Veduta aerea del Centro Ricerche ENEA di Frascati (Roma)

The ENEA-Frascati research centre is one of the most important national and international laboratory for R&D activities in the fields of nuclear fusion, laser sources and high energy particles physics. The FTU experiment is here located. Moreover, superconductivity studies are carried on, development of components for experiments on high heat flows is pursued, laboratories are dedicated to remote maintenance, metrology and sensors, to the development of neutron databases, radio frequency technologies and studies of the thermonuclear fuel cycle are performed as well.

In the framework of the Broader Approach, ENEA is involved in the procurement of part of the superconductive magnets of the new Japanese Tokamak JT-60SA.

In the research center in Frascati a high power laser is also operating for studies on inertial confinement fusion.

At the Consorzio RFX in Padua the experimental activity on RFX device is coupled to the design and realisation of the Neutral Beam Injector (NBI) prototype for ITER.

As part of the Broader Approach the RFX Consortium is also involved in the realization of the control and protection circuits and part of the electrical power systems for the Japanese experiment JT-60SA.
